Selected Work:

I've written essays for Cake Zine, the Washington Post, and Cook's Country Magazine, and my recipes have appeared in Bon Appetit and Food & Wine Magazine. My work has been featured in The New York Times, The New Yorker, and Best Food Blog. I've been featured on several podcasts, including Cherry Bombe's Radio Cherry Bombe, King Arthur Baking's Things Bakers Know, and Bon Appetit's Bake Club. I produced a reported podcast for the Southern Foodways Alliance about the history of fruitcake in NASA's space program. My interests are varied but I do write about fruitcake an awful lot! 

 

As a recipe developer, I've worked with several nationally recognized brands including California Prunes, California Grown, California Wine, Kola Goodies, and Diaspora. I'm a frequent contributor to Nicola Lamb's Kitchen Projects, where I write about classic American bakes like biscuits, strawberry shortcake, and cornbread.
