I write and report essays and podcasts about food, culture, art, and the spaces all three overlap.

I'm currently working on my debut cookbook, coming in Fall 2027 from Simon & Schuster. I have a newsletter, the Bayou Saint News, where I publish both essays and recipes. I've written for Cake Zine, the Washington Post, King Arthur Baking's blog, and America's Test Kitchen's Cook's Country Magazine. I'm a frequent contributor to Nicola Lamb's Kitchen Projects. I've also been featured on several podcasts, including Cherry Bombe's Radio Cherry Bombe, King Arthur Baking's Things Bakers Know, and Bon Appétit's Bake Club. I produced an original reported podcast for the Southern Foodways Alliance about the history of fruitcake in NASA's space program. My interests are varied but I do write about fruitcake an awful lot!
